Sat down with the brother today to sew a Nubuck 13' Laptop case.
Okay actually he was the one doing all the sewing and hole punching and what not.
Thought you guys might be interested to see like a little of how its made and stuff -
We actually used measurements instead of the four pronged method, cause the Nubuck we have
was pretty thick, about 1/3 or slightly more of a cm, and the 4x slits way would probably end up
with very angry neighbors below on a Saturday Afternoon.
( And yes, in Image 3, That is chicken. )
Punched the holes individually, then ran the thread through.
Wanted to experiment with a cross stitch method but we had time constraints - Brother leaves
Singapore for Aussie tomorrow, back to his studies. Opted for a simple looping stitch on the side
of the case, and left it unbuckled. The laptop actually slips all the way in nicely, but in the photos
below we left it out for a better shot of the whole finished thing.
Anyway, the leather was actually in a terrible state of mould, and I washed it out but then the
mould had been sitting on the Nubuck since forever, so the grayish spots still remained, total
bummer. But then I'm probably going to slice it up and pass it to the brother to bring to Aussie
where the cold weather now would probably kill all the mould stuck on it.
Enjoy
xx
